All the world's a stage…

Four actors, one stage, and a lifetime of work. This freely adapted, 90-minute version of Ian McKellen’s legendary one-man show — reworked for four actors — will unlock Shakespeare’s greatest characters for a new generation of audiences and theater lovers alike.

“A distinctive theatrical experiment — part autobiography, part classroom lecture, part vaudeville show, along with hefty chunks of Shakespearean poetry and drama.” — The New York Times

Acting Shakespeare is a co-production with our Arts Partner Irvington Shakespeare Company. We thank Ian McKellen for creating this stunning piece of theater and allowing ISC to revive it.

As featured in The Hudson Independent, ArtsWestchester, Mercy College News, and BroadwayWorld

Kat Quiñones (Second Player) is an immensely talented young actor from Mamaroneck who also graced our stage this summer in the starring role of Viola in Twelfth Night. It was a joy to witness Kat’s warm, engaging and generous performance grow richer each night. Kat holds a BFA in Performance from Hofstra University.

Jack Saleeby (First Player) is a queer storyteller based in New York City. As an actor, Jack has performed across the United States and China in touring and regional productions including The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), Newsies (Finch), Peter Pan (Curly), Twelfth Night (Orsino), Rocky Horror (Brad), Head Over Heels, and Jesus Christ Superstar. As a creator, Jack has worked on various projects in development including Queen Anne (chor./George), Stalling (Jude, original cast) and Starting Up! (Scott). Their original works have been produced throughout New York City, most notably Wolfpack at the Irondale Center in Brooklyn and Bright and Brave: A New Musical at Dixon Place. Jack is thrilled to be a part of Irvington Shakespeare Co. and would like to thank their teachers, friends, family, for their continued love and support.
