Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir

April 25, 2026

Rev Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Choir are legendary for turning protest into theater and theater into ecstatic communal experience. Blending music, satire, spectacle, and fearless truth-telling, Reverend Billy and Savitri D deliver a performance that is funny, subversive, uplifting, and impossible to ignore. They bring fresh songs and performances, along with a 15-minute sermon by Bill Talen as the energetic, charismatic revivalist preacher Reverend Billy that is both comical and deadly serious. Each show is different, but all are driven by a profound imperative: to strengthen our connection to the Earth, to develop pathways to social change, and to hold financial institutions and policymakers accountable for their role in the climate crisis.

Tickets are $20 to $30. If cost would make attendance difficult, please email cbinns@irvingtonny.gov. We want this event to be accessible and can offer reduced-price tickets.

The performance is part of a new series organized by the Irvington Green Team: Chaos & Catharsis: Meaning, Music and Movement for These Uncertain Times. This live series helps people make sense of a world in crisis through conversation, community, music, and embodied experience. Designed to be both thought-provoking and connective, each event invites audiences to engage with urgent ideas, connect with community, and breathe and sing together. Rev Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Choir bring bold performance, sharp cultural critique, and contagious collective energy to an evening built around meaning, coherence, and resonance.
