IRVINGTON TOWN HALL THEATER
WINTER/SPRING 2008 SCHEDULE OF PERFORMANCES
Check Out Our New Fall Preview Of Events For Sale Now!

Come and Experience Our Magical Aura!
Our new virtual 24/7 box office made its grand debut this past September. Patrons love how easy it is to order tickets anytime. The online ticketing system has processed sales of $150,000 as of January 1st. The start- up phase was a little bit confusing because not all of our shows were available online. Now all Mainstage and Westco Production events are for sale on our site www.irvingtontheater.com where you can find details about all our other events as well. Patrons can choose their seats, print their own tickets, skip the will call line and just saunter into the Theater 15 minutes prior to curtain. Please always remember to bring your tickets to the event for bar coding. If we have to reprint your tickets, it just slows down the process for new sales at the door.
For dyed-in-the-wool music lovers, catch the cool vibe from the critically acclaimed Westchester Jazz Orchestra performing The Art of Arranging: Well Loved Standards with a Twist, on January 26th and The Music of Gershwin and Paul Simon, on April 12th. Their debut CD, All In, was named among the best CDs of 2007 by Jazz Improv magazine. Musical highlights in the folk/country/blues concert scene are an encore performance on March 8th for Iris Dement, Fred Eaglesmith and his band on April 4th, Gandalf Murphy & the Slambovian Circus of Dreams on April 26th and the incredible New Orleans Cajun rock band, The Subdudes, on April 27th. Their new record release, Street Symphony, has been named as one of the best CDs in 2007. For a little nostalgia, baby boomers will love The New Christy Minstrels on March 15th, The Lettermen on April 5th and Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals on May 3rd. Don’t miss hearing these well–known acts performed live in our intimate Theater! Carol Caffin of Westchester Magazine raves, “For audiophiles who simply must hear every bass line in pristine form, there is no place better.”
Concerts acts aren’t the only thing happening on our stage. Clocktower Players’ Kids and Teens perform Singin’ in the Rain on February 8-9th, Charlotte’s Web on April 11-13th, Smokey Joe’s Café on May 2 & 4th and Aladdin on May 4th. Clocktower Player Adults perform Swing on May 16-18th. "Two thirds rhythm and one third soul." That's how Fats Waller defined this uniquely American form of popular music and dance. Our events are eclectic and we are a very dynamic and versatile theater that keeps on getting better! Make your New Years resolution to check us out soon in 2008.

Gandalf Murphy &
The Slambovian Circus of Dreams
www.slambovia.com |
|
They fumble onto the stage, talk freely to the audience as if they knew you forever, tell you their names and then proceed to take you away to another place, another space. The music is simple and relatively straight forward, very familiar yet strangely unique and transporting. They write great stories and know how to paint the scenes with their respective instruments. You feel instantly at home with them. Gandalf Murphy and The Slambovian Circus of Dreams is one of the most intriguing new bands to make the scene. $26

The Subdudes
www.subdudes.com |
|
Over the course of 20 years and eight albums, the subdudes have quietly become one of America's national music treasures. The New Orleans-formed group is a living encapsulation of American music, a vibrant cauldron of sounds that stirs together meaty grooves and jazzy dynamics, soulful R&B swagger, easy vocal harmonies, cheeky rock 'n' roll attitude and folky social consciousness -- not to mention some of the sharpest musicianship and ensemble playing you'll ever hear from any five musicians. It's tight enough to be loose, but never gratuitously.
